Now the first day that I met you
I was looking in the sky
When the sun turned all a blur
And the thunderclouds rolled by
The sea began to shiver
And the wind began to moan
It must've been a sign for me
To leave you well alone
I was born without you, baby
But my feelings were a little bit too strong
You never said you love me
And I don't believe you can
'Cause I saw you in a dream
And you were with another man
You looked so cool and casual
And I tried to look the same
But now, I've got to know you
Tell me who am I to blame?
I was born without you, baby
But my feelings were a little bit too strong
Now the whole wide world is movin'
'Cause there's iron in my heart
I just can't keep from cryin'
'Cause you say we've got to part
Sorrow grips my voice as I stand here all alone
And watch you slowly take away
A love I've never known
I was born without you, baby
But my feelings were a little bit too strong
Just a little bit too strong

The Last Fix
She'll die alone tonight
Like she's done a thousand times before
On the floor, like a whore
She'll leave again tonight
Like she's tried a thousand times before
Out the door cuz she wanted more
This was supposed to be the last time
This was supposed to be the last line
She was supposed to quit after this
This was supposed to be the last fix
She'll bump alone tonight
She's done it a thousand times before
Her best score but she wants some more
This was supposed to be the last time
This was supposed to be the last line
She was supposed to quit after this
This was supposed to be the last fix
You'd never have thought it
You'd never believe it
If you knew her from a distance
Like she's done a thousand times before
On the floor, like a whore
She'll leave again tonight
Like she's tried a thousand times before
Out the door cuz she wanted more
This was supposed to be the last time
This was supposed to be the last line
She was supposed to quit after this
This was supposed to be the last fix
She'll bump alone tonight
She's done it a thousand times before
Her best score but she wants some more
This was supposed to be the last time
This was supposed to be the last line
She was supposed to quit after this
This was supposed to be the last fix
You'd never have thought it
You'd never believe it
If you knew her from a distance
Dissertation I.
Fading memories haunt me in slithers and slices. Menacing glimpses of a past that can't possibly be mine reach out to me. Hallucinations of celebrations, war, sex and unimaginable fantasies of every kind accompany me through these endless desert sands.
I only have a few gallons of water, very little food and no clean clothes. My dog, Red, is my only companion, apart from these visions. I hope to find some kind of civilization soon. My body and mind are both tired and I fear sleep. Amnesia only lets you start over.
